Uptown Mirdif

Located in dubai, it is an area that was meant to be for families and friends to chill in coffee shops, restaurants, and do some light shopping. In reality though, it is a place where chammaks thrive, and the word uptown has become synonymous with the word chammak; dokha is smoked there, alcohol is drank in the park “secretly”, glue is huffed from mountain dew bottles, EC is huffed from old T-Shirts, and chammaks use this place as a meeting spot, hangout spot, and of course, and fighting ring. The security doesn’t do shit and only chases you for riding a bike inside; but they don’t give a shit if you kill someone so that’s why chammaks love it.

Chammak 1: Hey bro are you going to the blackout party tonight?

Chammak 2: Yeah man let’s go together though, you wanna take a cab together?

Chammak 1: Hell yea yabbi, let’s meet at the uptown mirdif taxi line and take a cab and run away from paying the fare when we get to jumeira.

Upton Sinclair

Born on September 20th, 1878, in Baltimore, Maryland, Upton Sinclair was a "muckraker" (An American journalist or writer who sought out to initiate social and political reforms). He wrote his first book, Springtime and Harvest, in 1901, which was a story of two lovers, inspired by his first unhappy marrige.

In 1906, Sinclair wrote "The Jungle," which was a book to protest the meatpacking industry. He wrote about how a man fell in a meat grinder, but they continued anyway.
He made political, economic, and social changes within his lifetime, as well as write over 90 books!
