sing the sorrow

AFI's most recent album.

A lot of people became AFI fans due to this album. There is a lot of prejudice toward fans that heard STS first, some of which is justified.

The AFI community is composed of very very hardcore fans that are annoyed when someone claims that they are are huge AFI fan when they've only heard one of the six albums AFI has made, not including EPs, vinyls, ect. Most of the time, that one album is STS.

Fan1: I became an AFI fan through Sing the Sorrow. Now I own all of their albums! I love AFI.

AFI community: That's cool.

Shing02

Rap activist, peace advocate, inventor. Born in Tokyo 1975, raised in Tanzania, England, and Japan. Shing02 landed in SF Bay Area in '89 after the quake at the age of 15. After a move to Berkeley for schooling in '93 he became immersed in the local hiphop scene that launched dozens of acts worldwide. Initially he used his art skills to get acquainted with the budding East Bay scene. In '96 Shing02's music made its way back to Japan, then partnered with Mr. Higo of Mary Joy Recordings, garnering tremendous support in his homeland. Now residing in Oakland, he's working on music with his new collective "Freelancers Utd", futuristic Jazz trio "Kosmic Renaissance", and as 1/2 of production crew "The Knocks (of CA)" with Doc Max. scinger

A ‘scinger’ is a shortened form for a ‘scotch and ginger’. Since ordering a ‘scotch and dry’ (i.e. a scotch and dry ginger ale mixed drink that’s popular in Australia) can often result in being served a ‘scotch and dry vermouth’ in California, one must therefore order a ‘scotch and ginger’, which after a few rounds comes out as ‘scinger’. Often heard slurred by drunk Aussies in bars in the TL!
