Lombax

A species of alien in the series Ratchet and Clank by Insomniac Games. They have yellow fur with orange-brown stripes, large eyes and ears, and tails with lighter tufts on the end. They stand around 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall, though sometimes taller. Two varieties exist, the Veldinian (smaller and adapted to airid climates) and a second native to either Frosca or Dangara (the name of the planet is contested, but it is known to be cold, with taller Lombaxes).

Originates from Lincolnshire, U.K.

1. (noun) An extremely fat, lazy individual, usually so intellectually limited that their only method of communication is to slowly nod their greasy head whilst maintaining eye contact with the TV. They can only walk in a waddle due to their unusually large body mass

2. (noun) A completely useless and ineffective object (sometimes person) that only causes inconvenience and annoyance. Also LOMAGING in this context.

3. (verb) The process of moving oneself from point A to point B in a slovenly manner, usually waddling as described in the first definition.

lorax

The greatest children's book ever written. It still sends shivers down my spine every time I finish it. It tells the story of how big buisness will destroy the world (in an environmental sense). The lorax himself is a character in the story. Describe him? That's hard. I don't know if I can. He is smallish, and oldish, and brownish, and mossy. He speaks with a voice that is sharpish and bossy. He is the protector of nature and is the foil to the Onceler's (the narrator) callous buisness attitude, which looks at things one dimensionally, with buisness his only concern. His buisness grows inversely with the quality of nature, which eventually drives out all the native species. Eventually his buisness, which relies on nature (which the Onceler doesn't realize) completely shuts down as his resources are eliminated. This bitter irony conveys how selfishness leads to nothing.
