When a band releases an album where there's only a couple good songs, and they need more to make a whole album, so they make crappy songs knowing they aren't that great just to complete the CD since you need at least around 8 songs for a goodCD.
The Shins' new album "Wincing the Night Away" has only a few great songs on it, and around 15 tunes in total, so they make a bunch of album fillers in order to make it a full-length album
The penultimate question we homosapiens always have about what type of machine we saw was a filling machine (which FILLS THE SODA BOTTLES) or rinsing machine (which RINSES THE SODA BOTTLES), which is usually found in the Kiri Soda factory in Uganda. The answer is simple: Don’t get them confused.
Friend 1: Hey bro, is this thing a filling machine or rinsing machine?
Friend 2: How the hell did you get out of the basement?
Friend 1: Through the filling machine.
Friend 2: That’s a rinsing machine.
Friend 1: I really think you’re wrong.
Friend 2: I really think you should get back in the basement.
"Cookie-cutter" songs used to fill time or pad an album around the two or three hits.
While the lyrics might be good the music itself lacks substance. Filler songs will never be on a greatest hits record down the road. Not even as a joke.
"I wish I could return this CD I bought - it's all filler songs."
