demisexuality

Demisexuality is the sexual orientation of a person who does not experience primary attraction, the physical or sexual attraction, but does experience secondary attraction, deep emotional attraction. Like asexuals, demisexuals often don't have sex due to lack of attraction but they can and some do, when with a person they most likely already have a deep emotional connection with. Demisexuality means lack of physical or sexual attraction but it doesn't necessarily mean lack of sex drive or that demisexuals don't crave companionship or a relationship, that might or might not involve sex. Demisexuals can be aromatic, heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic, or panromantic, very much like asexuals can be. On rare occasion a demisexual person can be attracted to someone sexually but usually it is after developing a strong friendship or relationship with that person. This is no way discards someone of their demisexuality and is important to remember.

Friend: Demisexuality? What the heckles is that?

Demisexual person: It's basically sort of like being asexual but with more emotional attraction and also I might have sex if I find the right person and I want to try it.

Friend: Oh, okay, cool.

bi-demisexual

A person who is demisexual, but is attracted to both genders. This person isn't fully like a demisexual because they also have attraction to their same sex once they get to know them. This is why bi-demisexual is different. Do not get this confused with any other sexuality or say it doesn't exist because it is very hurtful and offensive to a bi-demisexual.

"I got to know Grace and Jacob after a few months. I told them I was asexual in the beginning but now that I know them a lot more, i'm attracted to both of them. But Grace is a girl and Jacob is a boy. Thats how I discovered i'm bi-demisexual."

Demisexuals are characterized by a lack of sexual attraction toward any person unless they become deeply emotionally or romantically connected with a specific person or persons. The level of connection it takes for sexual desire to form is dependent on how close the relationship is rather than initial attraction. It is an orientation that is not chosen.

Demisexuality does not refer to the active restraint or repression of sexual desires or actions.

Demi- is a prefix meaning half. This is used to mean halfway between sexual and asexual. The term originated in the asexual community, specifically within the Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN).

Sexual partner: Hey, I think you are sexy. *aroused*
Demisexual partner: I'd have to reach a higher level of emotional intimacy before I could feel the same way. =\

Drosexual

- An attraction to The Dro from Deadstar Assembly in which you like him more than most others.

- When for example you're a guy and would only be, or go gay for The Dro, or if you're a woman who's a lesbian, but you wouldn't turn him down and/or would think about flipping if given the chance.
