Apparently stolen from Jeff; actually originated in the southwestern region of Wisconsin by Rintown, coined from the bar and grill "Boomtown" and originating in the year 2000. Annotates an achievment.

If one were to make the game winning shot of a basketball game, his/her accomplishment could be glossed with the addition of exclaiming "BOOMTOWN!"

The act of spreading false information through the internet

In early 2020 social media users went crazy spreading pictures of brooms that would stand upright by themselves when balanced - claiming a peculiar temporary state of earth's gravitational pull. Many brooms stood that day, and can stand on their own every day, simply because of their very low center of gravity and flat supporting edge.
