They are the scourge of rad people everywhere. Be warned for ass pirates are crafty and can pretend to be normal people. Look out for feigned interest in obvious popular culture. For example: Hiding their love of Enrique by pretending to like The Doors. Some famous ass pirates are Brown-Beard, Dirty Sanchez, and Shawn.
Note: Does not apply simply to gay dudes. Any guy you don't like can be an ass pirate.
