Derived from the latin word sha, which means explosive diarrhea. The term differs from the phrase taking a shit because of the shear explosiveness of the action. The term is often used to get out of work for a week or more.

Man, I have been taking a shaw all freakin day. You can count on me not coming to work for at least the next 3 weeks. If you need me I will be watching Dexter.

Hack-A-Shaq

In the NBA, a strategy teams use against NBA player Shaquille O'Neal when they're losing late in the game by putting him at the free throw line, where he is notoriously known as a poor free throw shooter, in the hopes that he misses one or two so they can get back in the game. Another variation is the "Hack-A-Ben", or using the same strategy as described above for Pistons center Ben Wallace, who is also known as a very poor free throw shooter.

The Pistons tried the Hack-A-Shaq but their comeback attempt failed, and they lost the game by 3.

2: (Verb) The act of projecting self pity/hopelessness due to feelings of inadequacy or fail.

3: Continually feeling sorry for ones self when loved ones try to cheer you up.
4: Can be caused by any of the following. Work, Relationships, Lack of relationships, Relationshits, School, Homework, Family, Possessions, Money, Lack of money

hack a shaq

A tactic used to intentionally foul Shaquille O'Neal (or another player with a poor free throw shooting percentage, such as Ben Wallace) before the last 2 minutes of a basketball game. This strategy slows down the pace of the game, and is not what basketball was intended to be played like. This tactic is useless with less than 2 minutes, because the team that was fouled can then choose which player goes to the free throw line.

How come the Spurs beat the Suns again in the playoffs? Because Popovich decided to use hack a shaq.

Pulling a Shayan 

When you have a short period of time left on a test and you're only less than halfway done with it, it's called pulling a Shayan. Also known as procrastination but specifically pertaining to taking tests and exams. (The reason it's Shayan and not another name is because it means "deserving" or "worthy effort" in Middle Eastern dialects.)

Guy #1: Dude did you see Raine struggling on number 5?
