Cordell Effect

When a really smart student tutors a portion of the class and raises the exam average such that the mean grade shifts, making it more difficult for the rest of the class to get ahead of the curve.

Cordell helped eight of his friends understand difficult concepts and get high grades on exams, making the test average significantly higher than the previous year, resulting in the Cordell Effect.

Frito-Lay Effect

The Frito-Lay Effect describes the size of a bag of Frito-Lay chips going down. However, it can also relate to any type of food item decreasing in size. It has been happening in recent years and has been happening severely since the 2009 recession. It makes most people mad.

n. In Mario Kart 64, when one player pulls ahead from the rest, while the remaining three, rather than catching up with the leader, end up shooting each other with shells, thereby causing the leader to extend his lead.

Joeserver Effect

Similar to the observer effect in physics, the very act of one person saying they will attend an event can cause all other people who were going to attend to change their minds. Has been known to ruin entire parties.

1) when the wife of a major celebrity finds out about his sexual escapades and grabs the perfect object (usually directly related to his cause of celebrity) to beat the crap out of his vehicle and reputation (deservedly)
2) named for the nordic beauty of the same name
3) cause for a husband and father to think twice before doing something stupid
4) see "fatal attraction effect" prior to 11/26/2009
