Someone who claims to be an intellectual and selectively revises any subject matter to conform with an argument that supports their identity. Essentially ass raping facts and selectively picking information to make non-existent points that support their confirmation bias and support their own idea that they are an intellectually deep thinker capable of resolving ideas no one else can.

Like word salad but the words coming out of the person speaking actually sound intelligent and enable the speaker to come across as intellectual. Intellectual origami involves sounding intellectual for the sake of sounding intellectual. The speaker will use high profile and scientific sounding words. Think of origami like an intricately folded collection of sharp edges which look impressive, but have much less weight than you’d think.

Paul from Love Is Blind deployed his intellectual origami when speaking or answering any question that production asked him. It would sound impressive, but ultimately it was just a form of intellectual word salad.

Intellectual masochist: is someone who seeks out mentally painful or exhausting scenarios - complex problems with no good solutions, philosophical paradoxes, depressing truths, cognitive dissonance - and engages with them voluntarily and even finds some satisfaction in the struggle itself. Like, most people avoid thinking about "will the AI revolution lead to my genocide faster or slower" because it's fucking depressing and paralyzing.
