Ghetto Window

Sheets of plywood covering first floor windows and doors of vacant homes and businesses. Used to prevent ghetto family units from moving back into homes unfit for humans. Most commonly found in democrat controlled metropolitan areas such as Detroit. Occasionally used as a graffiti billboard for local gangs.

Ghetto Wal-Mart

When every hoochie with a bad(and multi-colored) hair weave, pink slippers, some kind of animal print and gold teeth goes to Wal-Mart. Sometimes accompanied by one of their baby Daddy. Various rednecks can be found there as well...usually missing teeth, wearing a Rebel Flag on their clothing, and dragging dirty brats who look like the offspring of siblings.

Going to the Ghetto Wal-Mart makes you feel like you've lowered your IQ level.

Ghettofication

The opposite of "gentrification." Disinvestment and the creation of deteriorated property caused by lower-income people slowly taking over and moving in to middle-class neighborhoods resulting in the flight of the former wealthier inhabitants.

In Detroit, a large proportion of ghettofied housing was originally built for middle and upper income occupants. As the process of ghettofication occurred this housing was increasingly occupied by lower income people. The ensuing disinvestment caused a spiral of decline in this former neighborhood of gentry as mansions were subdivided into several apartments with impoverished tenants. As ghettofication increased the houses were not maintained and blight engulfed the neighborhood.

ghetto gentleman

A male who knows how to treat a woman (opens doors, brings her flowers, treats her with respect, etc.) but can also have a ghetto side and listens to rap and hip-hop music. (Basically, he knows how to keep it crunk.) A ghetto gentleman has a certain swagger and may have tattoos, piercings, and dress a little on the ghetto side.

A girl to her friends:
"Oh the date was great, he opened every door for me and told me I looked beautiful. Then on the way home in the car we sang along to T-Pain and Weezy together. He's was such a ghetto gentleman."
