This looks like taking a close 2nd, when you should've firsted and the judge gave a bad call, and becoming the 9th best team, in a tournament that breaks to semimfinals (8 teams).
This is usually a really sad feeling, because you nearly made it to the elimination rounds, but failed at the last minute.
