Industrial Engineer

Industrial engineers are not engineers in the Traditional sense. They are the "Engineers" that real Engineers make fun of during break time. In University, while Electrical and Mechanical Engineers are busy doing hard work, Industrial Engineers typically occupy their time by planning Pizza Parties among other non-engineering related activities. Industrial engineers don't typically take as many math classes as the other engineers because they often say its to hard, they also say programing is hard.

industrial

A genre of music incorporating heavy lyrics into machine noises started in the mid-1970's and continuing through the late 80's and early 90's. This genre of music has branched into other forms such as Nu-Metal, Electronic Industrial, etc., but all retain the essence of the original machinery and heavy guitar riffs.

Started by bands mentioned above, revived by Ministry's 'The Mind is a Terrible Thing to taste', which introduced both the band and industrial into mainstream music and carried on through the 90's by NIN, Filter, Fear Factory, Rammstein and many others.

industrial

A form of music that combines Rock, Techno, Metal & various other music musical elements. Most bands use of samples from tv shows/movies/other media, dance beats/drum machines and misc sounds are modified. Most if it has some form of distortion. Very few Industrial bands are extremely or over produced.
Basically a very unique form of music that is enjoyable on cd and really enjoyable live.

Chemlab, Coil (abstract crazy sound crap), Foetus (not that good but unique), Front 242 (Only good live), KMFDM (hardest working Industrial band in the business), Marilyn Manson (used to be good/entertaining initially) Ministry (Good on CD but great live), NIN (most famous Industrial band that should wise up and tour with other Industrial bands instead of crappy rock bands), PIG (Almost Everything Raymond Watts works on is great), Pop Will Eat Itself, Schaft (another Raymond Watts project), Schwein (another Raymond Watts project), Type O Negative
