When a group of persons of color want to go out for a night on the town, they call their token white friend to come along as a security blanket to limit harrassment by the cops.

Man, what a night. Sure glad we brought Blaine as a security blanket. If he wasn't with us, we would have been pulled out of the car and searched, or worse.
