Crazy eyes. Wild eyes.

Not too long after people began using the term “bug-eyes” to refer to eyes that seemed to bulge out of their sockets —> over the years, as people misunderstood the term for “buck-eyes” or buckeyes.

Buck refers to many four legged animals with antlers used for charging at each other, so it makes intuitive sense at least.

He came in buckeyed off the juice. He knew she was with him. When he looked for her those buckeyes started moving everywhere. Not cool.
