Get the traffic lightsmug. What your friends use, for some reason, in their living room when you visit. For some reason, you are the only one in your group who believes in and loves lamp. Your friends do not seem to mind showcasing every flaw in the room and on everyone. It also makes it difficult to watch TV. Overhead light is of the devil in living room and bedroom situations.
