I listen to all kinds of music, as a musician myself its all about the lyrical content.
I wear what i wear cuz its comfortable, not because it scares people.
I am not depressed, in fact 90% of my life i am smiling.
If your not "goth" we dont give a shit.
Its like when people ask us "why get piercings or tattoos" we dont care if you dont have them, so why should you care if we do?
We are definitely not all suicidal, i fucking love me life and am quite happy where i am.
Yes we all "conform" as in wear black and so on but we also try to be different from each other.
Most of us are quite talented in some form of the arts (writing, music, drawing ETC.)
We leave you alone you should leave us alone.

most "goths" dont call them self "goth"
any one who calls them self goth is normally trying to fit in some where. a true "goth" (or person of alternative lifestyle as i prefer to be called) hates being labeled and the idea of labels

Get the GOTH mug.GOTHS : It is basically undefinable b'coz "GOTH" means different things 2 each followers. It is up 2 the individual to define wad GOTH is for themselves. As for me, Goth has the blood of a punk. It then survive on as its own subculture. But some says that goths originated in the medieval age...
About the dressings. Wearing all black does not mean u're goth. Because goths loves to be unique & be different from the others. They do not care what people gonna say about em' because they know that they've got their own originality not like those people who loves common things & be the same as the others...The norm people would dress up the same & follows the trend but goths does not envy popularity... & a goth does not like to dress up the same as the other goths do...

Goth rock, ethareal, darkambient etc... As for me, i preferred on listening 2 ethareal which is most characterized by saprano female vocls combined with almost classical or folk type instrumentation which creates a surreal, angelic or love spiral downwards. Ethareal music often contains opera-like vocals... Ethareal is a subdivision in itself, however it is grouped towards the darkwave end rather than the gothic rock end...

Get the Goth mug.A subculture pretty much composed of hopeless bums, the founder of which thought it would be super swell to name their fun little group after the music they liked which was named after, I don't know... say... a group of GERMAN INVADERS, and/or a style of architecture utilized in the late middle ages (Durham Castle is a prime example of diffusion between the Romanesque and Gothic styles, actually, but the pure style involves thin columns, pointed archways, many stained-glass windows (making the GOTHIC cathedrals very BRIGHT), all supported by flying buttresses. Heh, the Goths I define, not known particularly for expansive intellects, will laugh at that one.). They prize themselves in being dark, sensitive and artistic, but most importantly, NOT POPULAR. Damn those popular kids! Popularity is sooooo overrated. (Yes, they all secretly want to be popular but find they cannot because nobody actually likes them) And by all means, they are NOT poseurs. In fact, the people whom they detest most are poseurs. You know, people who try to be like them, but could never attain the glory that is... GOTH!
