The period of time when many college students (freshmen usually) break up with their significant others that are back home or at a different university. Like vultures to carrion, potential suitors are attracted to the new singles. It can be theorized that many random hookups occur during Vulture Season. This period of time is usually between October and Christmas Break, as these people have been away from home and their significant others for a long time at this point.
