A fake zealot. Someone who uses a fake moral high ground as an excuse to zealously grind and bully someone or some group they don't like. The moral high ground is usually meaningless to the fealot and is used as merely a shield to justify bullying and abusive behavior.
A fealot is an anti-abortionist who says they want to protect fetuses who really just runs guilt trips on young girls or bullies abortion doctors.
A fealot is the same sex marriage defender who defends same sex marriage just to bash religious people.
A fealot is a religious person hiding behind their religion to bully someone.
A fealot is the feminist who viciously attacks men then says all she wants is equality. "How can you disagree with me when all I am fighting for is equality".
Fealots are bullies and abusers who hide behind a moral high ground to attack others. The actual high ground is either ill-defined or they don't actually adhere to it.
Signs of a fealot:
* zealously attacks without logic or reason but its obvious the issue is trivial or blown out of proportion
* spends more time attacking than discussing the actual cause.
* usually isn't part of the group in question (straights defending gays, whites defending blacks, men defending women).
* target group or person is someone the fealot does not like.
* can be more cruel to the protected group than the people the fealot are attacking. Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a c*nt for example while being against misogyny.
* rarely if ever uphold the moral high ground when it disadvantages the fealot.
* hides behind nebulous, ill-defined and vague high grounds or terms "All I want is equality". "I just want fairness" "You're evil"
* plays the victim

Get the Apic Feil mug.An offshoot of the Southern Baptist Convention that is not as committed to defending the doctrine of the inerrancy of the Bible as the SBC since Evangelicals recaptured the denomination from liberals and moderates. CBF also presents a more egalitarian set of policies on social and political issues along with presenting a hazy view of theology. While most CBF members are not as far to the left as clearly apostate denominational elites such as found in the United Methodist Church, the CBF would be more accurately characterized as part of the mushy middle or moderates.
CBF does not explicitly deny the truth of the Bible, but they emphasize that individual believers can interpret the Bible any way that they choose. This tack on interpreting the Bible can easily provide a liberal Christian with the license to make the Bible into a wax-nose so that one can twist the Bible to justify whatever one wants to read into the text. This loose approach to reading and being instructed in the Bible comes from CBF's so-called "Four Freedoms": (1)Soul Freedom-a direct relationship with God without intermediaries (2)Bible Freedom-each person can interpret the Bible for himself without direction from anyone but God (or who one can easily deceive oneself into believing is God, viz. oneself who wants what he wants and wants it now) (3)Church Freedom-local church autonomy (4)Religious Freedom-as defined by egalitarian leftists at the ACLU. The CBF is affiliated with the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, which opposes such benign policies as allowing for Ten Commandment displays.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship member reflecting on Deuteronomy 24 after his wife has burnt the toast: "I see here right in the Bible that I can divorce my wife if she displeases me. So, I shall divorce her and marry my sexier secretary. After she gets some mileage on her, I shall trade her in, too. I am so glad that I read the Bible and follow God's Word."
