New Weird America

a musical genre defined by David Keenan in the August 2003 issue of The Wire magazine. Its sound is primarily derived from psychedelia, folk, jazz, avant-garde and improvisational music.

Sunburned Hand of the Man was on the cover of The Wire, they're part of the New Weird America.

Weird Al Paradox

The phenomenon of a celebrity, most notably Weird Al Yankovic, who grows more popular the geekier he gets.

Another example would be Seth Green who is/was a co-star on geek shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Family Guy and went on to co-creating and participating in Robot Chicken, one of the geekiest shows in human history, while becoming in many people's eyes cooler and cooler.

Weird Al's song and video for White and Nerdy were both extremely popular but also chock full of geek references, it's quite the Weird Al Paradox.

First off noone can really say something is weird because one's own personal definition of weird could be totally different from someone elses. Someone who is called "weird" by their peers in one place might be called a conformist somewhere else so really the terms "weird" and "normal" are nothing more then words to describe someone or something different from themselves.

1. Prep: " OMG that girl is such a weird goth. maybe if she dressed normal she would actually get a boyfriend whos not selling drugs.
2. Goth: "Holy s**t that b***h is so f****n weird. wat a conformist!! i wanna f****n kill her!!

can be used in response to someone when you have nothing else to say usually when texting, will frustrate girls very easily if said to them

girl: so yah i went shopping and spent like lots of $$
guy: oh yah?
girl: yah and i got some new jeans, a sweater, some socks, .....blah blah blah blah

girl: aarrghh! ur so frustrating!!

Generally refering to someone or something that is unusual, strange, or progessive to the point of alienation from others of it's kind.

Jane was the weirdling in the group.
