Default Woman

Default woman: A 'default woman' waits in the wings - month after month and year after year - hoping to rise from insignificance to Significant Other.

A default woman prides herself in the depth of her love and the strength of her commitment, although her position is consistently 'backseat.' She is adept at posturing and jumping at opportunities. She delights in crumbs. She plays her cards with precision (the nostalgia card, the family card...), while holding tightly to all the reasons/proof he should be with her. Sadly, the default woman does not understand that her eagerness to accept this diminishing role causes others to diminish her also; or that if she were able to cherish herself, she would be opening the door for others to see her value.

1) Someone who unfortunately is always around you AND acts particularly prickly or like a bitch all day long. You have to put up with them because they have no were to be or because of power dynamics (ie. supervisor/manager, friend’s partner etc.).

2) Somone who is your standard go to bitch. They take everyones shit all day long.

Coworker 1: “Damn she’s a bitch I can’t wait for her to leave”.

Coworker 2: “Who? Becky?”

Coworker 1: “YES! Becky duh who else!!!!”
