Throughout the 1960s, among hippies, this was an alternative phrase to "kill the pig" where pig referred to the police. "Off the pig" was an almost Zen like chant meaning to kill the "pig" or hatred within one's self.

A phrase uttered in response to an individual making a fairly mundane mistake. Often after this phrase is said, the individual who spoke it proceeds to produce obscure noises, clap their hands in a seductive manner, and snort like a dying pig.
