Can I ask you something?

That question which often precedes "are you gay?"

This can come from anybody who has little experience going about somebody potentially in the closet, most of all those who don't know to avoid asking directly. That includes friends, co-workers, parents, cousins, family, and even other known gays.

Heterosexual: Hey, can I ask you something? Don't be offended. You don't need to answer if you don't want to.

Internally- panicking and closeted homosexual: Yeah, what is it?
Heterosexual: Are you gay?

African american, especially in the former southern states, pronunciation and spelling of something.

as a pronunciation and as a spelled word, imho somethin' is so much sexier than just somethin no apostrophe.
