A word used when a person wants to kill themselves or when suggesting someone else should kill themselves, preferably by hanging. Can be used in many contexts. It can also be seen as sc8z, sc8, skates, sk8, sk8z.

Friend 1: I've got a 2000 word assignment due tomorrow and I haven't started
Friend 2: SCATES!!!

Friend 1: I had a 14 killsteak in HoN and died, think in gonna scates.
Friend 2: unlucky, massive sc8z

Scratching

With the same intention as cutting, except trying to avoid scarring. The scratcher will usually use something sharp to the touch but not pure metal, for example, a bobby pin without the plastic coating or a safety pin as opposed to a knife, scissors, razor, pencil sharpener blade, etc.

It's not cutting, it's scratching.

Southern slang which describes a condition where one is confused, aloof, or just plain stupid. This condition is the anthisis of winding a watch and scratching your ass; which are normal process for any redneck over the age of 50 who is not drunk, stoned, or both.

Damn son, don't just stand there "winding your ass and scratching your watch", flip the hamburgers!

A golfer that averages even par or better during a regulation round of golf WITHOUT cheating. A feat Tiger Woods accomplished as a young boy.

Garrett: "Did you hear that Matt shot a 68 in his tournament today?"
Gene: "Yea, he has shot under par in every tournament this season. He must be a scratch golfer."

a person who claims to be a tattoo artist but does horrible work, which tends to have to be fixed by a real tattoo artist.

You must have gotten that tattoo by a scratch artist, i can fix it though.
