A portmanteau of me and rebound. The act of a basketball player fielding their own rebound after missing their own shot or layup. A mebound is a sarcastic criticism of a player’s inflated rebound stats, since every mebound requires a missed attempt on the basket by the awarded player.
Angel Reese had a double double last night, but 75% of her rebounds were mebounds, some of which included three consecutive bricks by Reese in as many seconds.
