Typically a "stiff" drink contains less mixers than alcohol. As a result a stiff drink is generally stronger, or stronger tasting.
A Sex on the Beach cocktail for example has 1 part peach schnapps, 2 parts cranberry juice, and 2 parts orange juice to only 1 part vodka. That isn't a stiff drink, but a shot of whiskey straight would be.

The general word (used a lot in Australia, but most people just say coke to describe a soft drink) for what is better known as soda or fizzy drink. A 'soft drink' can be seen juxtaposed to a hard drink such as alcohol.

A type of alcoholic drink (usually liquor) that having gotten sick off so many times, or even just extremely sick once, a person is no longer able to drink due to the taste and smell reminding them of vomit.
