Post Election Depression

A new disorder whereby the losing candidate of the election experiences deep depression, grieving, mental anguish, anger, hysteria, disbelief, and in some extreme cases suicidal depression or homicidal tendencies and physical assault directed towards the winning candidates, their party and its members.

Candidate Shane Bloke dived deep into Post Election Depression soon after losing the local government elections.

post-hardcore

A genre combining the artsy sensibilities of post-punk with the general energy of hardcore punk. Vocals can vary wildly, from cleans to screams to even death growls (do keep in mind that death growls aren't really part of the original scene). Later on, many post-hardcore bands would add influences from pop punk, metalcore or even melodic death metal.

Several genres would evolve from post-hardcore over time, such as emo and it's derivatives such as screamo and emo-pop, or mathcore, which is a combination of math rock and post-hardcore. Many melodic metalcore bands also have post-hardcore sensibilities.

Original bands: Nomeansno, Fugazi, At the Drive-In, Minutemen
Modern post-hardcore: The Used, The Fall of Troy (notable for probably being the most ATDI influenced modern post-hxc act), Thrice, Saosin, Aiden
Metalcore/post-hardcore hybrids: Poison the Well, Glassjaw, Thrice (their older material), Alesana, Atreyu, 36 Crazyfists, Nothingface (notable for being one of the most post-hxc and metalcore infused early nu metal acts), Escape the Fate, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, Enter Shikari (notable for being the first trancecore band)

puppy post

A blog entry posted on an innocuous topic to distract blog readers from a previously posted blog entry that is causing criticism or dissension. Also used to move previous blog entries down the screen so as to push them off the front page of a blog.

Origin: On 4/25/2008, a post titled "The TSA Puppy Program" was posted on the Transportation Security Administration's blog (blog.tsa.gov). Conjecture in the comments section was that the post, which contained pictures of cute puppies, was intended to distract readers from the vociferous discussions on previous posts regarding such topics as "Safety and Privacy Concerns Regarding the Millimeter Wave Whole Body Imager" (posted 4/24/2008) and "Catch a Wave and Avoid a Pat Down" (posted 4/17/2008). Since that time, posts on the TSA blog which seem to be intended to distract readers from previous contentious dicussions have been called "puppy posts."

The blog staff has posted another puppy post today, this time about chewing gum on airplanes. It's pushed the Constitutional discussion to the next page.
