In the first season of the Judge Mathis show, Leslie (Pallotta) Merrill, a former news anchor for WPGH Pittsburgh became the show's court reporter. Her role was to interview the litigants after Judge Mathis passed judgment and rendered his verdict on each case.29 She left the show after season 1. For the reminder of the series, Judge Mathis did not have a court reporter.

At least the group that went before that last group of posers didn't salute the judge, and they even made a few people laugh in the process, even if they didn't get the judge's votes. Winning isn't everything though.

Hym "I have never had a problem with meritocratic victory or defeat. My position is actually perfectly analogous to Joe's position on judges. The judges are getting paid to decide to wins and who loses. They are the ones who choose the winner. Joe is not. What justification does Joe have to protest the judges decision?
