freshman shock and awe

When you transition to the next highest educational institution (elementary school to middle school, middle school to high school, high school to college) and you need to adjust to your teachers expecting more from you and more work and you're shocked by your grades because they're terrible/not what you expected. Normally "awe shit" follows the shock, thus the "shock and awe"

Aja: Yes! I got straight A's! What'd you get Marcus?
Marcus: *stares at grades, mouth wide open* awe shit
Aja: What's wrong?
Marcus: I got 3 F's! How did this happen!? I did good last year!

freshmen connection

A half assed admission to the University of Maryland. They liked your application but not enough to admit you as a normal student. The biggest load of shit known to the college application process. Usually involves taking evening courses until 9PM, sub-par assistance from the university, and having no time to participate in extracurricular activities. Basically keeping you from having a good college experience. And for housing you're on your own. If you like being a second class citizen on your own college campus then this program is for you!

Oh man! Every single one of my friends is having a great college experience! Too bad I can't since I'm in Freshmen Fucking Connection.

I wish they would either accept or deny me instead of putting me in Freshmen Connection.

Freshman Football

A team of freshman & sophomore football athletes. A lot of them will not play and grind at practice like the Senior Football team. Some will just quit the team. A good amount of them will not play the year after. Some will keep on playing. Also known as frosh football.

Kid 1: I wanna be like Viz and play all the years after Freshman Football
