watcher in the water

The Watcher in the Water is a gigantic squid-like creature that appears in The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book of JRR Tolkien's trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The Watcher in the Water rises out of the lake directly outside the entrance to Moria and attempts to pull Frodo into the water and (presumably) eat him. Many people believe the Watcher in the Water is heavily influenced by the Kraken.

A madam of the blindingly pale obese American species, often seen at McDonald's drinking a diet soda, wearing socks and crocs, and smoking an alcoholic cigarette. Watchets lurk around Wal-Mart and local fast food places and they tend to waddle.
