Sometimes when playing a female sport like volleyball, there is someone of questionable sexuality. Sometimes you refer to them as a "softball playa" but when there is no doubt, of said individual's slant , they are refered to as a Callan.

A callan can also be someone who is in love with a "steve"

For a frequent hair gel user who spikes only the front of his hair, the callaway hairstyle is a go to when these frequent hair gel users run out of gel and don't have time to get more. This style requires a quick tug and jerk followed by a handful of nut and a quick swipe of the hair. Holds just as strong as any hair gel there is.
