One who surfs YouTube, rating comments and marking spam, possibly to an excessive degree.

That YouTube vigilante must be monitoring the main page, because for once I found no spam on the featured videos.

Corona Vigilante

Those who think they have the moral authority to take pictures of those who break the lockdown rules during the coronavirus crisis, then post them online to shame the culprits, and in some cases to drag them out of their homes to beat or kill them.

On religious or superstitious grounds, corona vigilantes around the world are taking the law into their own hands during the lockdowns to expose and shame the lawbreakers.

Vigilante Librarian Syndrome

A librarian, primarily in middle and high schools, who believes that their power to hush restless students is much more important than it actually is. They hold their power to quiet people on command up on a pedestal, for it is the only power that they possess. Rule enforcement is their primary goal, above education.

That librarian gave me a detention for asking my friend if I could borrow a pencil, she must have Vigilante Librarian Syndrome.

Vigilantism

What happens when "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" is completely ignored and being declared guilty by the Court of Public Opinion reaches its logical conclusion.

All of Bob's peers are convinced that he's the one who stole Alice's car, even though he was legally declared innocent due to lack of evidence to prove it. So they all resorted to Vigilantism and piled on him like vultures.

Someone like The Coon or Mysterion who takes crime into their own hands because the legal force is not doing an adequate job.

If you ask me, there's no room in this world for vigilantes. I believe The Coon is a menace.
