Where the series does have it`s obsessive fans, the community is actually against itself since there are plenty who enjoy the games but do not behave the same way as other fanbases. The variety of people is too diverse to judge, touhou-misinformed-idiot`s are just people who look for the worst ones, who are usually on mainstream social media and easier to find, while the true fans are usually other places.

Especially in a widely male fanbase. A lot of them tend to reflect on the actual age of the character in fan-art. It is not just because the characters, I prefer the background story. A great lore, really.
