Textplain

When somebody tells you something interesting through an instant messaging system or text message and you need them to explain what happened but don't feel like calling them (probably because you're lazy).

Jennifer: "ZOMG Becky! Guess what? Jason and Anne had sex and now Anne is pregnant!"

Patty: "Well.. I'm not Becky but Textplain what happened! I thought they hated each other!"

Tansplain

When a Brit who is abysmally clueless and oblivious about all things Irish explains pompously and condescendingly to an Irish person about his or her own country's history and geography, in a way which only serves to highlight the Brit's total ignorance. Named after the black and tan militia.

Boris: "Look, you're part of the British Isles, which means you are a British Isle, not a separate country, you belong to us and you really should know your place."

Pat: "Nice tansplaining, Boris."

Teensplaining

When a teen condescendingly assumes that they know more about a topic than the adults around them, usually their parents. The teen then explains the topic to the adult as if the adult is completely ignorant regardless of their experience or expertise. This is frequently accompanied by the extreme certainty that can only be maintained through inexperience.

Maya was teensplaining to me that intelligence is about 75% heritable.
"You'd know that if you weren't such an idiot, Dad!"

My daughter teensplained pop music to me, as if I hadn't lived through the 80s.
