Tasmanian Music Scenesters

The teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 who live in town and never miss a local gig, and thrive on the metal scene. They often have a dress code that consists of band T-shirts that they may never of heard of (eg. the ramones), often matching flannies, messed up 'grunge' hair, skinny or ripped jeans, and of course converse. They're attitudes are very poser, and often with the motto 'if you don't look like us you ain't hardcore'. They love sitting in franklin square, smoking and giving dirty looks. As I said before, they love local gigs whether they know the bands or not, because we are so musically starved in Tasmania. They're are also emos that hang around and group together, but they usually only attend when bands like 'circle of blood' are playing.

Tasmanian Music Scenesters are a vast majority of the teenagers who have made town thier home.

Flannie girl: Omg, like I got sooooo smashed on the weekend in frankie, it was AWESOME, I was like spewing everywhere!!
Flannie mate: Like, cool. Did you see the lead singer of that band?? Omg, he was soooo hot!! I like stole his shoes and he though it was sooooo funny! Hey do you like my hair today?
Flannie girl: Yeah, it's soo totally grunge!!

someone who behaves in a prescribed way to fit in with a certain group of people. often having to do with emo.indie.punk.rock . spelled incorrectly with 'star' at the end to emphasize the cookie cutter nature of the people, stars being very common symbols within this genre.

black hair, dark eyes, converse, nautical stars, lip ring, vain, shallow

i wouldnt talk to her, shes a scenestar.

scenester

Generally adolescents aged 15-20 who are involved in the "scenes" surrounding emo and indie (occasionaly other types of music as well, including punk with it's mohawked fashion punks) for whom the scene is more important than the music itself. They place greater importance upon the style of dress, knowledge of "cool" bands and being a part of the scene than the music that is the centre of the scene. They are the death of many scenes and are to be shunned.

He's such a scenester! He spends all his cash on scarves! Damned emo kids.

Scenester

a chaotic mixture between a scene kid and a hipster. This is typically shown with the stereotypical scene hair cuts (short to medium length and brightly colored for females, and medium to long and typically black for males) and hipster styled clothing. This is usually leggings, large shirts, and slip on shoes. A scenester will believe that they were original in their style and did this far before any one else and, and before "scene" and "hipster" became mainstream.

Something that makes you think of the stereotypical scene kid. I.e., bows in the hair, hello kitty, etc.

When something can be considered of scene derivation.

Someone who is a mix between the following
Typical Indie Kid:
-likes V necks
-shops at american apparel and thrift stores
-wide vocabulary
-skinny jeans
-thick glasses
-artsy
-long bangs that are side swept
-try to be original
-ALOT like NEVERSHOUTNEVER/Chris Drew

Scene Kid;
-teased hair in bright colours
-likes to be CRAZY!
-says things like "niggah" "thnxkaibai" and "Rawr!"
-likes kiddy things like hello kitty,dinosaurs robots
-Dark makeup and false lashes
-bright and fun

Indie Sceneter;
(can be any mix but here's an example)
-artsy
-crazy
-wears v-necks
-likes screamo but NOT indie music
-loves hello kitty
-HATES teasing there hair.
you may find indie scenesters that love some scene things and hate others and that love some indie things and hate others...it depends
