staydate

To stay at home and refrain from going out for a typical date. Partaking in the typical events that a couple may do on a date, where the location of these events is at home, rather than going out. See: staycation. Popular with couples with kids without a babysitter.

Instead of going out to eat at a restaurant followed by a trip to the movies, my wife and I had a staydate last night. My husband made a great dinner at home and I found a movie on Netflix instant to watch. Staydates are the best, and so economical.
