n. 1. a person who has a working understanding of nerd-like fields of expertise, but is unable to actually nerd-out fully.
2. a person who has streched their nerdy abilities too far and needs to call in a nerd for the assist.

I know that Gandalf is in "Lord of the Rings", but I'm too much of a nerdiot to know which guy he is.

I know that I want to display tweets with a specific hashtag on a webpage, but I don't know the best widget to do that... I'm such a nerdiot.

When you try desperately to be a normal goth but you can't help yourself when it comes to brightly colored merch from that one fandom you like

Person a: "hey that person is goth ain't he? What's with the team aqua bag?"

Person b: "classic case of a nerdgoth, he just can't help himself!"
