a 8-15 year old who tries their best to seem 'different' or 'quirky' by pretending to be depressed / pretend to be having mental illnesses / or pretending to be committing to unhealthy coping mechanisms (self harm). they usually do it for validation and sympathy when the truth is that they're completely fine or just basically lying the whole time.

examples of these kids can be seen in subreddits like r/im14andthisisdeep following the 'fake deep' trend and the commonly seen fetishization/glorification of mental illness and mentally ill people.

an edgy gg (girlgroup) stan is a stan on kpop stan twitter that stans one or multiple kpop girl groups and takes things way too far. some band in groups, add random people to their groupchat and bully them (this has become common recently). they usually have a messy layout, use 😭, use fancams with everything, and are the rudest people you’ll meet. they will be homophobic, racist, islamophobic, make jokes about rape, self harm, abuse, mental disorders, etc. their goal is to trigger people. remember not all girl group stans are like this, most are very very sweet and funny, edgy girl group stans are trolls that just want a reaction out of people.
