Abattoir Blues

From the song by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, used to describe the depressed feeling you get about the modern world in general. An abattoir is a slaughterhouse, so the term, in a more in depth way, means you feel the world is lining itself up for slaughter, much like cows do at a slaughterhouse.

Man 1: Hey, are you all right? You've seemed kinda depressed lately.
Man 2: Oh, it's okay, I've just got a case of abattoir blues.

bluesmobile

The car that Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues cruise in as of Jakes release of prison. It is a 1974 Dodge Monaco with Police add-ons. It's got a V8 engine, rear-wheel drive, CAN run out of gas, DOES have special powers because of an el-train generator located next to Elwoods apartment. Unfortunately, due to the excesive use while running from the police, it met its maker when the Blues Brothers reached their destination. It's now in a scrapyard somewhere. 18 years later it was replaced by a new Bluesmobile, a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria Police Cruiser which nobody knows what happend to. It is also capable of running out of gas and doing amazing stunts.

Postcon Blues

The depressed feeling you get after going to a convention and seeing friends. The afflicted usually desperately text or call everyone they know from the convention, spend ridiculous amounts of time on facebook and forums where they find their friends from the convention, and go over every memory hundreds of times.

Man, now that PortCon is over I have some major postcon blues.

I'm dreading the postcon blues feeling I'll have next week.

zipper blues

A depressed feeling one gets from constantly having to move around or not being able to stay in one place. Comes from having to always zip up ones jacket because they always have to leave. Depression caused by successive movement and not being able to settle in one place. Frustration caused by constant mobility and inability to maintain a residence.

Amy's fifth move in one year caused her to experience zipper blues.

Birthday Blues

(Noun Phrase) A general sadness or feeling down by a person on or around his birthday. The factors that can cause this include:
- Being upset at officially aging another year.
- Being disappointed or not having expectations met by a birthday celebration or gifts.
- Being unsatisfied with accomplishments since the previous birthday.
A person dealing with birthday blues has the right to feel the way she does on her birthday and her family and friends should make sure she knows she is loved and appreciated.

Jenny: "What's wrong? Aren't you happy? It's your birthday party!"
