soft language

A great term invented by George Carlin to describe the way dumb self centered smug people refer to things.

"Sometime during my life toilet paper became bathroom tissue. . . . Sneakers became running shoes. False teeth became dental appliances. Medicine became medication. Information became directory assistance. The dump became the landfill. Car crashes became automobile accidents. Partly cloudy became partly sunny. Motels became motor lodges. House trailers became mobile homes. Used cars became previously owned transportation. Room service became guest room dining. Constipation became occasional irregularity. . . "

"Poor people used to live in slums. Now 'the economically disadvantaged' occupy 'substandard housing' in the 'inner cities.' And a lot of them are broke. They don't have 'negative cash flow."- George Carlin

"We would like to begin the boarding process." Extra word, “process”, not necessary. Boarding is enough, "We'd like to begin the boarding." Simple! Tells the story..." - George Cain
On airplanes the lady on the plane always uses soft language. "Please begin the pre-boarding process."

*texts you alot* : respond asap she likes you brother
*ignores you* : give her some attention we love it

ap language and composition

the worst goddang class you will ever take where syntax is freaking everywhere and yet you still dont understand what it means. it tortures the mind and ruptures your soul by its never ending annotations on pointless readings that no one ever actually cares about.
Hey whatd you do in ap language and composition today?

We learned about the what alliteration, hyperbole, simile, metaphor, syntax, syllogism, and enthymeme were and how they effectively pertain to real life situations.

non-language

The singer and songwriter DDG (www.ddgmusic.com), refers to the expression "non-language" to define his musical stratagem, the escamotage that he uses in some of his songs to remove the language boundaries and give anyone in the world the chance to sing his melodies.
The non-language, mixing musical sounds, rhythms and melodies with no explicit meaning rather than words, is a way to gather and connect all the people around the world no matter what language they speak - Chinese, English, Russian, Spanish, French or Japanese - because anyone can use a non-language sound like "dondigitdigitdigitdondon".
from the song DIG IT a non-language example:
"We share the same sun
We share the same light

We share the same fight

We share the same rights
So many colours so many souls
Please save my brothers
And just sing and just sing the same song

dondigitdigitdigitdondon
Respect for people one dream just one love
So many reasons to believe and share the same goal

dondigitdigitdigitdondon..."
