There was suddle odor of cigarettes in the air. I would have used the word "subtle" but I'm bad at spelling.

Snurdle

Snurdle; the perverse act of surreptitiously sniffing the still warm bicycle seat of a female cyclist after she has just vacated the saddle. Usually for purposes of cheap sexual thrills and more often than not accompanied by pig style grunting noises.

Snurdling; the commission of the act of the snurdle.

"Yes officer. I'd just stepped off my bicycle when this man appeared out of nowhere and started to snurdle in broad daylight".

"Thank you Mrs May. We'll take it from here. Ok Mr Trump, in the back of the van and no funny business".

The beginning of a massive headache when one realizes he’s started a sophisticated linguistic debate with an insufferable pedant who refuses to accept that linguistics goes beyond basic grammar the person learned in elementary school.

A West country word meaning to waste time and not get on with the task at hand. Leads to spuddler, spuddled spuddly etc.

Look at old Mrs Jones, spuddling at the gate.
Oh, she's a right old spuddler.

Or to children - Stop spuddling and get on with your homework.
