Schadenfreude

The joy, existential validation, and downright delicious pleasure received by watching, reading of, hearing of, or even, occasionally, causing an enemy's downfall. And by enemies, I mean also friends.

Ever since November 8, I have been watching election night coverage on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, and The Young Turks just for the orgasmic Schadenfreude of it. Yum!

Pleasure derived by learning of another person getting shafted

From German, literally "Business Joy" (Schaft = business; Freud = joy).
An alternative to the more common Schadenfreude: pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune

"Manafort and Papadopoulos just got indicted. Ha ha, I'm getting some serious Schaftenfreude about the Ginger Gringo."

A song from the fucking hilarious musical "Avenue Q". It's also a German word meaning happiness at the misfortune of others.
