Named after Senator Bill Napoli in honor of his description for an "acceptable rape" that would merit an exemption from South Dakota's abortion ban.
Not to be confused with the proper noun, which indicates the Italian city.

nanolympic second (noun): the irrationally and unreasonably short period of time in which a casual or even first-time observer of obscure Olympic sports will become convinced that he or she has mastered the subtle nuances and intricacies of the sport to the point where he or she believes to be able to speak authoritatively about said sport.

Jane: Ooooh, that form break on her inward two and a half is probably going to cost our diver a medal.

Fred: Well, it seems it’s to have only taken you all of a nanolympic second to become a preeminent authority on diving, which is pretty amazing since you haven’t seen someone so much as fall into a pool in your entire life.

nagol

Also called N'gol, Nagol roughly translates to "Land Diving". It is a ceremonial ritual made famous by the inhabitants of Pentecost Island. Nagol involves jumping from a raised platform with vines tethered to ones legs, using the length of the vines to halt the fall close to the ground. Bungee Jumping is believed to have been derived from this ritual.

Between the months of April and June, the islanders participate in the ritual of Nagol on every Saturday

Napoli

Last name of a Republican State Senator for South Dakota, who had these words of wisdom to say about acceptable rape exceptions for the state's proposed abortion ban:

"A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life."

These words were spoken by Mr. Napoli during the March 3, 2006 Lehrer Newshour, and a transcript is currently available online, through the show's website.

Mr. Napoli's definition and subsequent advocacy for the abortion ban in South Dakota has also spawned a movement to coin a new word in a similar vein to santorum.

The verb, to "Napoli" or, alternately, to "Napolize", would mean the actual comission of the brutal and heinous act spawned Senator Napoli's elegant imagination, specifically,

Napoli (also: Napolize)(v. trans.) -
"To brutalize and rape, sodomize as bad as you can possibly make it, a young, religious virgin woman who was saving herself for marriage."

The above neologism, in and of itself, would be unsuitable for publication in the UD due to its sexually violent definition. However, it is here presented in a strictly factual context, to explain exactly what Senator Napoli's opinions have wrought upon his reputation.

Have you heard about that fellow, Bill Napoli? He's something of a celebrity these days, but not in a good way. He went on the Lehrer newshour and implied that if you were neither dying, nor virginal, you had no business obtaining an abortion.
