Sup Nod

Noun or verb depending on how it's used
The Sup Nod is the sudden up-down movement you make with your head when you see someone and wish to greet them, as if to say "Sup."
You can say "Sup" or "Wassup" or "Hey" as you do it.
You do not necessarily need to know the person to which you are giving the Sup Nod to. It's just a way to say hey.
The Sup Nod can also be used when you catch someone looking at you and you want them to stop.
Some use it as a way to let the shawties know you lookin

Shelby-Did you see Sydney at the party?
Mimi-Yea, she was with Karen. I gave 'em the Sup Nod.

Jamila-That weird boy is staring hard
Shelby-Just give him the Sup Nod

Kevin-Bruh, did you see that shawty over there?! I was tryna give her the Sup Nod.

the "sup" nod

A nod usually signifying a greeting or the "what's up" as you may. The "sup" nod is usually used for "lax" brahs or other brahs that are too lazy to give daps to each other or don't feel like talking. Another use of this is to avoid the awkward daps and miss, or to avoid attention so that people don't see you associating with that person. Usually used during the winter months because everyone is a zombie in the morning at school. The nod is usually upwards.

Brah 1: Sup brah, I was chilling with my girl walking down the hall and Jacob walked down past me so I didn't want to leave him hanging so I gave him the "sup" nod.

Brah 2: Did he give you the "sup" nod back?

Brah 1: You know it! YEAHH!

Brah 2: YEAHHH

Brah 1: YEAHHH

Red Sox Nod

Anytime you are in public, wearing a boston red sox hat, and come across another person in a red sox hat. If the two of you are true fans of the team, you will exchange a nod.

This is a good way to distinguish between full-blown die hards and the post-2004 bandwagon fans.

Guy 1: "Did you know that guy?"

Guy 2: "No but he was wearing a Red Sox hat like me, so I had to throw him the Red Sox Nod.
