Rooftops (a liberation broadcast)

Rooftops is a single by Welsh band lostprophets, which was released in the United Kingdom on June 19, 2006.

The first airing of the single in the UK recently was in front of 25,000 fans when the lostprophets headlined the Give It a Name festival in Manchester and London.

The song is taken from the number one album Liberation Transmission and was recorded in Hawaii. The b-sides found on the single came from the same sessions - all of which are brand new tracks. The video was filmed on location in Los Angeles, USA and was co-directed by the band and Ryan Smith (of Story of the Year).

Trivia:
When the band pitched their dream video for "Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)" to their record label, it was refused because it would have cost 8 million pounds to produce. It subsequently went through several re-drafts before they settled on the final version.
The chorus of "Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)" was inspired by the scene in the film Garden State where the characters are screaming into a pit. The general theme of the song also matches the film's — "make a mark" in your life while there's still time.

Animal Liberation Front

The only DECENT animal caring group. They have raided plenty of science labs that use poor and helpless animals for useless and sloppy experiments. During the raid they had rescued hundreds of animals; rabbits, dogs, monkeys and even cats who have had their own eyes sewn toghether, therefor making them blind.

During the raid, they had rescued a famous baby monkey known as Britches. The lab taken poor Britches away from his mother the day he was born. What happened to Britches was horrific. His eyelids had been sewn and lived for three dark and lonely years blind. He was deprived of nearly everything. Until 1985, when the ALF rescued him. He was in a mental condition and had body spasms because he was in such a small space, blind with no one around.

The ALF restored his eyesight by taking the sewings out. The monkey had gotten better every day and was able to eat, drink and walk by himself. Britches was even very playful!

The ALF are truly heroes, unlike PETA.
Animal Liberation Front actually cares about animals, unlike PETA.

Trivia:

This is the first lostprophets album to include the lyrics to album's songs in the album's packaging. thefakesoundofprogress did not include the lyrics, whilst Start Something specifically states that the lyrics could be found on the band's official website, although they no longer can be.
It is also the first lostprophets album recorded without original drummer Mike Chiplin. Josh Freese drummed at the request of Bob Rock, but the band's first choice was Travis Barker.
Both of the other lostprophets albums featured interludes between some songs; no songs on Liberation Transmission are linked together, or feature interludes.
The first line in the chorus of "Can't Stop, Gotta Date with Hate" was taken from a line in the film The Goonies.
The Latin phrase on the album cover, "nobis pro lemma vobis", translates roughly as "for us, for them, for you". This lyric comes from the song Burn Burn, which can be found on the band's previous album Start Something.
liberation transmission is classed as lostprophets 'emo' album.
