Flanging

Pronounced 'flan-jing', the act of mixing two audio signals together, with one being delayed by a small and slowly changing period producing an output signal with peaks and troughs in a harmonic series. Flangers are similar to phasers (phase-shifting, beyond the scope of this definition) however, if you listen intently enough, you can hear the difference.

The flange effect can best be described (to those who never studied wave mechanics) as a jet sound; sounds like a jet aircraft passing by the listener. Phasing on the other hand sounds much more alien and "other-worldly".

While used in all sorts of different music, flangers are most heavily used in psychedelic and dreamy music where strong harmonics and a "wall-of-sound" depth are often sought - used with good reason too, flanging sounds insanely beautiful when you're as high as a kite. ;)
I was listening to Slowdive's Machine Gun shortly after returning from another galaxy. Coming down, the flanging was simply too beautiful for my human ears, so I cried and reassessed existence.

Fauxting

Faking a text when you're alone, when in reality, you have no one to text. Fauxting is mostly done by teenagers when they are in the presence of other teenagers they dont know.
Boy 1: Dude, I heard your ex was at that party last night, what happened?
Boy 2: Ahh I didnt talk to her. I just was fauxting until she left.
Boy 1: Smart move, you probably looked so cool.

Flatting

Flatting is a slang term used to describe a living arrangement whereby a house or apartment - a "flat" is let out to a group of people. The people who rent the flat are referred to as "flatmates".

Flatting is the dominant living arrangement for university students and young people who no longer wish to live at home. Some people prefer to flat with friends from high school or work, others prefer to flat with acquaintances and others will quite willingly go in with "randoms" - people they've never met before.

Flatmates will sometimes pay more or less money depending on the quality of their room - the better the room the higher the price. In some cases, a flat will have a "gimp room" which is smaller/damper/grosser than the other rooms of the house and will be let out at a reduced rate due to its inadequacies.
