Get the alter–egoism mug.A dedicated fan (or dedicated egoist) who's part of the ALTER EGO Wiki community. The phrase was originally created as the ALTER EGO Wiki was operating a fan cult for the game called 'Alteruism,' which fans can sign up for. It provides its members (cultists) with the latest leaks and speculations for the game found nowhere else during its development stage.
Over time, the term slipped out of that context, and people began using it as a nickname for all ALTER EGO fans. This is, of course, a misnomer, since the original meaning was about those super-involved, almost obsessive community members who lived and breathed everything ALTER EGO. Still, the name stuck, and nowadays you'll sometimes see it tossed around loosely to mean "fan of ALTER EGO" in general.
