Furry Irony

Furry irony works in the same vein as hood or thug irony where furry content is used as a joke ironically. It is usually paired with unrelated pieces of text, traces memes with furry characters, or in a speech bubble format.

Person 1: Look at this furry irony meme!
Person 2: Dude you're a furry.
Person 1: Nuh uh. See? It's ironic.
Person 2: Ok man.

Irony

Irony is when this website declares in its official content guidelines that "we have a zero tolerance policy for definitions that include hate speech, bullying, or statements meant to discriminate or incite violence against others" and then proceeds to approve racist definitions and post them on the website. Great job, you hypocritical pieces of shit.

There is a lot of irony in the approval of the word "Jewed" on Urban Dictionary; it shows a real lack of social intelligence and education on the part of the management team of this website.

Irony

A wife beater serving food in the kitchen of a battered women's shelter for community service would be irony.

She snuck a gun into the cafeteria and shot her husband dead when she saw the no good two timing deadbeat standing there in the kitchen, handing a tray full of meat and potatoes to another female. The battered women's shelter didnt seem to be doing a good job of sheltering her from him which was not her kind of irony.

Irony

Irony is the use of words to convey the opposite of their literal meaning. Similarly, irony may be a statement or situation where the meaning is contradicted by the appearance or presentation of the idea

Many people believe verbal irony to be synonymous with sarcasm, but sarcasm is only one of the common types of verbal irony. It appears in four basic forms:

1- sarcasm (saying “Oh, fantastic!” when the situation is actually very bad)
2-Socratic irony (pretending to be ignorant to show that someone else is ignorant: "I'm confused, I thought your curfew was at 11. Isn't it past 12 now?")
3- understatement (saying "We don't get along" after having a huge fight with someone)
4- overstatement (saying "I'll die if I can't go to the concert!")

false irony

When someone tries to pretend they were being ironic, but they meant exactly what they were saying. Often a tactic of bullies and fascists who claim they were just making jokes and having fun, but the intent has nothing to do with having fun.

It's false irony when Matt Walsh's Twitter calls himself a "Theocratic fascist", and pretends he's just being ironic, but then actually promotes fascism.
