Local Joey

Similar in temperament to the baby marsupial that the name implies, a local joey is someone that loves to hop around their locale of choice (town, campus, web) excitedly looking for new and interesting things.

The local joey is usually well known, affable and fun to be around. Unlike home town hero or fixture, local joey (or LJ for short) is always said in a very positive connotation.

Do you know that guy Steve?

Of course! He's a local joey, everyone knows him!

I was out last night and one of our town's local joeys came in and the night went from an 6 to an 11!
