nerd-to-nerd conversation

A conversation involving two or more people (nerds) possessing a high-level of knowledge, expertise, and passion in particular subject matter, where individuals of lesser understanding in the same subject matter are not included or removed. The nerd-to-nerd conversation is especially useful when burdensome managers and bureaucratic roadblocks have caused a simple meeting or discussion to become needlessly overcomplicated.

Continuing from our meeting today, Eric is going to reach out to Chuck to have a nerd-to-nerd conversation to sort out the technical details.

While conversate is technically an accepted synonym for converse, the verb tends to be favored by members of the population with IQ's that are generally well below average. This typically includes gangsta rappers, graffiti artists, and short, bald-headed asian men who work in the finance field, but believe themselves to be "thuggish".

Conversation Quarterback

Someone who can easily run a conversation, like a quarterback runs an offense. Will make you either easy to talk to, or just make people want to punch you in the face.

Example #1:

Jen: I don't think I can go out with Steve, I'm too shy to talk.

Beth: Don't worry, he's such a conversation quarterback, he'll make it easy for you.


Example #2:

Dude: Man, fuck Brent! He's such a conversation quarterback that he won't let you get a word!

Conversational Plagarism

When someone says something that you have previously said and tries to pass it off as their own. You either hear about it from whoever they said it to or you overhear them saying it. Can be extremely irritating, especially if you're the sort of person who dislikes making a scene and doesn't want to call them on it.

Tom: Did you know that (insert interesting fact here)?
Dick: Wow, really? That's so interesting...

LATER

Harry: Did you know that (insert same interesting fact here)
Tom: Yeah, did I tell you that?
Harry: No, Dick did. He's so interesting.
Tom: MOTHERFUCKER!! That's conversational plagarism right there...

Conversave

When someone has been left out of a conversation but is still standing there awkwardly not saying anything, a conversave is where you go over and relieve their silent misery.

Chatting people: "Bla bla bla in joke etc etc"

Left out person "..."

Conversaver: "Hey how are you..."

No longer left out person: "Thanks for the conversave!"
